Co-op Internship 2027 – Fixed Income Investment (6 months)

About the role

Manulife's Asia General Account Investment function acts as the in-house investment manager for roughly USD 116 billion of life insurance assets in its Asia segment, directing investments across asset classes and overseeing outsourced managers. This 6-month co-op internship (January 2027 to June 2027) sits within that function and offers hands-on exposure to fixed income markets and financial instruments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with portfolio managers to support fixed income investment activities across global markets
• Assist in preparing investment reports and respond to ad-hoc requests
• Carry out analytical projects and process improvement initiatives to improve team efficiency
• Gain hands-on exposure to fixed income markets and a range of financial instruments

Required profile

• Undergraduate graduate in finance, economics or business administration, or a Master's in a related subject, with strong academic achievement
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, finance or investment and strong analytical techniques
• Familiarity with a variety of financial products and services
• Agile, creative and proactive in a fast-paced environment, with strong written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a results-oriented, self-motivated approach

Required skills

• Solid computer experience in Microsoft Office
• Aptitude for learning new software packages
