Commis Chef – 2‑Star Michelin French Restaurant

About the role

The Commis will support the kitchen team of a 2‑Star Michelin French restaurant, preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision and maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling and storing fresh produce.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and preparation checklists.
• Cook and assemble dishes, operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test food for doneness.
• Prepare cold foods, plate dishes to presentation standards and serve appropriate portions.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, tools, knives and kitchen equipment.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any incidents or maintenance needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
