Consultant - Data Science & Analytics

About the role

Sia Partners is a global consulting firm with over 2,400 consultants in 17 countries, advising clients on strategy, business transformation, IT and digital strategy and data science. It works with partners such as Blackstone and is ranked among the top consulting firms in the APAC region. As a consultant in data science and analytics, you will work on local and international client engagements covering data acquisition and exploration, model building and stakeholder presentations, and contribute to internal data science projects on Heka.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, acquire, process and explore relevant data sources
• Analyse large amounts of structured and unstructured information to find trends and patterns
• Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms and turn datasets into actionable insights
• Communicate results through presentations, dashboards, datasets and bots
• Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
• Deliver models, algorithms, datasets, measurements, services, tools and processes
• Help evangelise data science in the region through training, upskilling and business development

Required profile

• 1-3 years' experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst, ideally in consulting
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics or a related field from a top university
• Problem-solving aptitude and strong business acumen
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)

Required skills

• Python, ideally another analytical language such as R or SQL
• Strong plus: data visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or R-shiny
• Strong plus: statistical techniques and machine learning knowledge
