Director - Investment Products

About the role

The Securities & Futures Commission is seeking a Director to lead the regulatory oversight of public offers of collective investment schemes (CIS) in Hong Kong. This senior role will manage the authorization process, supervise ongoing compliance of authorized CIS, and shape policy to support a vibrant fund management market.

Key responsibilities

• Administer regulatory requirements under the Securities and Futures Ordinance for public CIS offers.
• Manage the end‑to‑end authorization process for new collective investment schemes.
• Oversee continuous supervision of authorized CIS to ensure compliance.
• Develop and implement policies and strategies for the asset and wealth management sector.
• Monitor emerging local and international trends and propose innovative regulatory initiatives.
• Provide expert advice to safeguard investors’ interests and promote Hong Kong as a leading fund management hub.

Required profile

• University degree or professional qualification in law, finance or economics.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in regulation and operation of collective investment scheme products.
• Extensive capital markets experience with strong knowledge of international regulatory and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Proven leadership, team‑building and coaching abilities.
• Fluent in both English and Chinese.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of retail CIS regime in Hong Kong and major international markets.
• Understanding of international regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements for collective investment schemes.
• Strong policy formulation and strategic planning capabilities.
