Finance Director – Business Partner, Strategy & Controllership

About the role

This senior finance position reports directly to executive leadership of a leading Hong Kong corporation. The Finance Director will act as a trusted business partner, shaping strategy, overseeing controllership, and driving financial performance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial intelligence, predictive forecasting, and performance analytics to support top‑level decision‑making.
• Manage liquidity, cash flow, and investment yield while adhering to risk and operational limits.
• Oversee end‑to‑end production of statutory accounts, interim reports, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.
• Lead budgeting cycles, resource allocation, and operational planning aligned with corporate goals.
• Supervise collection systems, revenue workflows, and continuous process improvement.
• Evaluate, upgrade, and implement ERP and other financial software to automate processes.
• Develop and maintain internal control policies, risk frameworks, and banking arrangements.
• Monitor expenditures and performance against benchmarks, identifying efficiency gains.
• Mentor and build a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• University degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business with full professional membership (HKICPA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• 15+ years of progressive financial management experience, including executive or department‑head roles.
• Deep knowledge of risk frameworks, statutory audit, treasury, tax, financial planning and operational oversight.
• Proven ability to advise senior leadership and drive organisational change.
• Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin).
