Finance Lead - Payments / HK MSO

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Finance Lead to build and head the finance function of our Hong Kong payments business. This position focuses on payments‑specific finance, not general corporate accounting, and requires deep experience with Money Service Operator (MSO) licensing and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end finance scope: accounting, month‑end close, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and financial controls.
• Develop payment‑focused financial models and KPIs covering transaction volumes, take rates, fees, FX margins, settlement costs and unit economics.
• Manage multi‑currency liquidity, daily cash positioning, banking relationships and settlement obligations.
• Oversee end‑to‑end payment flows, ensure timely reconciliation of bank, customer‑fund and settlement balances, and monitor FX exposure.
• Lead HK MSO licence maintenance, renewal, periodic transaction reporting and regulatory submissions in partnership with Compliance and Operations.
• Maintain audit‑ready records, coordinate statutory audits and support regulatory reviews.
• Build finance policies, automate reconciliation and reporting processes, and manage junior or outsourced finance resources.

Required profile

• 8+ years of finance/accounting experience.
• At least 2‑3 years of direct, practical experience in a third‑party payment company, payment gateway/processor, remittance/MSO business or payments start‑up.
• Proven experience maintaining a Hong Kong MSO licence and supporting regulatory submissions.
• Strong understanding of statutory audits, regulatory reviews and transaction‑level scrutiny.
