Group Tax Director

About the role

OKX, a leading crypto exchange and blockchain group, is seeking a Group Tax Director to lead its global tax function. The role will shape tax policy, manage compliance across multiple financial systems, and support the company’s rapid growth in the digital economy.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Group subject‑matter expert for all tax areas (Pillar Two, indirect tax, direct tax, transfer pricing, DSTs, crypto‑specific taxes) and provide strategic guidance to executive stakeholders.
• Direct regional and cross‑regional tax management systems, overseeing compliance across four or more financial management modules.
• Lead engagements with tax authorities and external consultants worldwide, defining controversy defence strategies.
• Develop and maintain the group tax risk matrix, identify risks and opportunities, and translate them into corporate strategies.
• Implement best‑in‑class tax processes, SOPs and automation tools, including tax determination engines for indirect tax, CbCR and Pillar 2 reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Economics or Taxation; Master’s in Tax, LL.M. or professional qualification (CPA, CA, CTA) strongly preferred.
• 12‑15+ years of international/group tax experience with proven leadership in a multinational or Big 4 environment.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex tax issues in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment and to mentor cross‑functional teams.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin‑speaking executive stakeholders.
