Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests aboard the vessel. Acting as the primary point of contact, the officer listens actively, resolves concerns, and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction throughout the 5‑6 month onboard assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests and respond to inquiries with a courteous and humorous approach.
• Listen actively to guest issues, provide assistance, and negotiate resolutions.
• Handle cash transactions, maintain accurate records, and apply knowledge of US currency and exchange rates.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Collaborate with department heads and shipboard employees to address and resolve problems.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• At least one year of cash‑handling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work onboard for a 5‑6 month period.
• Fluent spoken English and Mandarin, with the ability to read and write English for procedural understanding.
• Strong hospitality mindset, excellent communication, organizational, and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Cash handling and familiarity with US currency and exchange rates.
• Operation of basic office equipment (telephone, computer, copy machine).
