Infrastructure Support Engineer – Linux Platform

About the role

A leading financial services organisation is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer to manage and enhance its enterprise Linux platforms. You will ensure a secure, resilient, and high‑performing environment while driving automation and supporting infrastructure modernisation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of large‑scale RHEL environments, maintaining availability, stability and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Support platform upgrades, system enhancements and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
• Develop automation solutions using Shell/Bash scripting and configuration‑management tools such as Ansible.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide technical escalation support for production systems.
• Maintain system security through patch management, vulnerability remediation and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience supporting enterprise Linux environments, preferably in financial services.
• Strong hands‑on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in large‑scale production.

Required skills

• Linux system performance tuning, capacity planning and troubleshooting.
• Shell/Bash scripting for automation and system administration.
• Experience with Ansible or similar configuration‑management tools.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.
