Internal Auditor – Regional Audit Team (Hong Kong)

About the role

Our client, a leading private bank, is expanding regionally and seeks a high‑calibre Internal Auditor to join its Regional Audit team in Hong Kong. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to assess risk, governance and control effectiveness across the bank’s wealth‑management operations.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in annual risk assessment and audit planning, defining scope and objectives.
• Lead end‑to‑end audit engagements across regional businesses, delivering high‑quality reports on time.
• Evaluate governance, risk‑management frameworks and internal controls for adequacy and effectiveness.
• Assess compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry best practices.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans.
• Build strong relationships with senior business and support functions while maintaining audit independence.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments, industry trends and emerging risks affecting private banking.
• Contribute to thematic reviews and continuous improvement of audit methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Advisory or External Audit, preferably within private banking, wealth management or financial services.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
• Willingness to travel across the region as required.
