Investment Research Specialist – Equity

About the role

Join Mercer’s global manager research team in Hong Kong as an Investment Research Specialist focusing on equity strategies. This hybrid role requires at least three days a week in the office and offers high visibility across Asia and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research on China and Asia equity strategies, produce clear rating reports and present findings to internal committees and clients.
• Perform due diligence on investment managers through qualitative and quantitative analysis, including interviews, performance reviews, peer comparisons and portfolio style assessments.
• Validate manager‑provided information via desktop research and articulate Mercer’s research process to external stakeholders.
• Support broader Equity Team projects, contribute market trend insights and generate investment analysis.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in investment management or consulting.
• Strong analytical ability to evaluate qualitative and quantitative data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent report‑writing skills with the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to engage confidently with investment managers and defend viewpoints.

Required skills

• CFA charterholder (preferred).
• Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese; Cantonese is a plus.
