Java Developer – Global Transaction Banking (Payments & Cash Management)

About the role

Societe Generale is looking for a Java Developer to join its Global Transaction Banking IT team in Hong Kong. The role will contribute to large‑scale Asia transformation projects that modernise core banking, introduce new markets and deliver payments and cash‑management solutions using micro‑services and APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java micro‑services (Spring Boot) and build REST APIs.
• Integrate services via messaging queues such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Contribute to architecture and integration design for banking and payment systems.
• Automate DevOps processes with Python (e.g., PyInfra) and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and manage containers with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes.
• Work with PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data handling.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide production support, including on‑call rotation.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners and management, and lead code‑quality initiatives, unit testing and documentation.
• Manage vendor relationships for issue tracking and delivery.

Required profile

• Strong analysis and delivery mindset.

• Experience or exposure to banking/payment systems.
