Legal Consultant / Negotiator – UMR (Derivatives)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Consultant / Negotiator specialized in UMR (Uncleared Margin Rules) to support a Global 500 client in the financial services sector. The role involves long‑term engagement on derivative documentation and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and review UMR‑related trading documents and other derivative documentation.
• Ensure terms comply with regulatory UMR requirements, internal risk and collateral policies, and accurately capture margin, collateral and segregation provisions.

Required profile

• Approximately 2+ years post‑qualification experience or equivalent senior negotiator experience.
• Background in financial services or a law firm with hands‑on experience in derivatives and UMR implementation.

Required skills

• Experience negotiating derivatives/ISDA documentation.
• Direct hands‑on UMR experience, including IM CSA documentation and initial margin calculation/implementation.
• Strong understanding of OTC derivatives, margin, collateral concepts and UMR regulation.
