Paralegal – Investment Funds Team

About the role

This position provides comprehensive, confidential paralegal support to Ogier Hong Kong's Investment Funds Team. It offers a pathway to an associate role or a long‑term legal support career within the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Support fee‑earners to achieve target chargeable hours.
• Assist with financials and matter management (budgets, WIP, aged debt reporting).
• Conduct searches and draft/amend legal documents such as opinions, private offering memoranda, fund documentation, and corporate authorisations.
• Act as primary liaison between fee‑earners and clients.
• Set up new client matters in accounting and database systems, maintain client records, and manage file lifecycle.
• Coordinate client‑specific business development arrangements when required.
• Delegate administrative tasks according to team workflow.
• Utilise Global Support Team services and trial new technology initiatives.
• Handle incoming calls, arrange conferences, and retrieve information for legal decision‑making.

Required profile

• Completed legal studies (LLB, GDL, LPC, PCLL or equivalent) or relevant legal experience.
• Understanding of time‑entry principles and ability to manage chargeable hours.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills.
• Fluent spoken English and Mandarin.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
