Precious Metals Physical Trading Specialist

About the role

Marex Metals is a top-tier metals sales and trading business covering base, precious and ferrous metals markets, and recently added Tangent, which operates the recycled metals market. This full-time role provides front-to-back sales support and operational coverage for the physical precious metals business, focused on gold and silver, supporting execution, trade lifecycle management and settlement across LBMA-cleared markets, with working knowledge of Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) and Hong Kong Gold Exchange operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support sales and trading in executing physical precious metals transactions
• Manage the end-to-end trade lifecycle from execution to settlement and reconciliation
• Ensure accurate settlement under LBMA standards (e.g. loco London, HKG, Singapore)
• Support operational processes for SGE and Hong Kong Gold Exchange trades
• Liaise with internal teams, counterparties, vaults and service providers
• Identify, escalate and resolve settlement or operational issues
• Follow internal controls, operational risk frameworks and escalation procedures, and adhere to the SFC Code of Conduct and Marex Code of Conduct
• Escalate risk events immediately and give input to risk management processes where required

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years' industry experience
• Chinese, Mandarin and Cantonese, and English
• Well-networked across Asia, with experience in a regulated environment
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of physical and derivatives markets across precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium)
• Experience trading SGE, SHFE, TOCOM and other regional exchanges
• Understanding of physical trade settlement, preferably LBMA-related
• Familiarity with SGE and/or Hong Kong Gold Exchange operations
