Principal – Insurance & Asset Management

About the role

Oliver Wyman is seeking a Principal to lead high‑impact initiatives within its Insurance & Asset Management practice in Hong Kong. You will shape the future of the insurance sector by driving innovation, building senior executive relationships, and mentoring junior consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex client projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Develop hypotheses, oversee data collection, and conduct comprehensive analyses to deliver actionable insights.
• Collaborate with Partners to maintain high‑quality consulting standards and present findings to senior executives.
• Support the development of junior staff, fostering a learning culture and facilitating skill enhancement.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in top‑tier strategy consulting or in Life, General, Health, Reinsurance, or Asset Management sectors.
• Advanced degree from a respected academic institution.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the capacity to translate complex data into strategic insights.

Required skills

• Strategic expertise in portfolio growth, distribution, internationalization, and M&A.
• Operational knowledge of claims management, underwriting processes, and technology integration.
• Financial effectiveness skills including risk assessment, capital allocation, and regulatory compliance.
