Procurement Manager – IT Software

About the role

Shape Cathay’s approach to IT software procurement by defining and executing category, sourcing and commercial strategies that deliver value, quality, reliability and service. You will lead software acquisition for the airline, working closely with IT, business and Outport stakeholders to challenge specifications, manage demand and build productive relationships with influential software suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement sourcing, procurement and commercial strategies for IT software.
• Conduct global, regional and local market analysis to identify trends and develop strategies.
• Develop and manage relationships with key software suppliers and market influencers.
• Restructure the procurement operating model to leverage cross‑category support for tenders and Statements of Work.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure best price, quality, reliability and service.
• Collaborate with business units, IT and Outport teams to challenge specifications and manage demand.
• Ensure compliance with procurement processes and contract management.
• Manage and coach a team of Assistant Managers.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of procurement and category management experience, preferably in IT software.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and basic contract law.
• Ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership, coaching and people‑development skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Approachable, decisive and capable of defining and implementing strategies.
