Python Quantitative Developer – Sydney or Hong Kong

About the role

We are seeking a Python Quantitative Developer to join a leading quantitative trading firm. The role focuses on building the data infrastructure that powers systematic trading across the APAC region, working closely with researchers and traders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust Python applications and data pipelines that convert raw market data into production‑ready datasets.
• Create and maintain tooling used by quantitative researchers for strategy development and back‑testing.
• Handle large‑scale datasets, optimise storage formats (e.g., Parquet, HDF5) and improve processing performance.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues to ensure reliable, accurate data in production systems.
• Collaborate with researchers, traders and infrastructure engineers on technically challenging problems.

Required profile

• Strong Python engineering experience.
• Excellent knowledge of data libraries such as Pandas, NumPy or Polars.
• Experience working with large datasets and formats such as Parquet or HDF5.
• Comfortable developing in Linux environments.
• Strong problem‑solving ability with an interest in performance and scalability.
• Experience within financial markets is a plus.
