Research Assistant Professor – Intelligent Medical Robotics

About the role

The Department of Electronic Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor position focused on intelligent medical robotics and image‑guided procedures. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers to advance AI‑assisted medical technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑impact research in intelligent medical robotics, AI‑driven image‑guided procedures, and related fields.
• Apply for external competitive grants such as RGC GRF and secure research funding.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise student projects.
• Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university service activities.
• Collaborate closely with Professor Hongliang Ren and multidisciplinary partners.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in robotics, AI, computer science/engineering, electronic or mechanical engineering, medical physics, automation or mechatronics.
• Post‑doctoral experience or equivalent research track record.
• Strong publication record and academic achievements.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, independent work ethic and high sense of responsibility.
• Clear research and teaching statements; experience in securing research grants is a plus.
