Senior Associate/Manager – Corporate Tax – Financial Services Tax

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Associate or Manager to join its Financial Services Tax team. You will help banking, insurance and asset‑management clients meet tax obligations, shape tax strategy and manage risk across local and cross‑border matters, including M&A transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise financial services clients on tax compliance, advisory and M&A matters, identifying risks and recommending mitigation.
• Partner with in‑house tax teams to strengthen risk management and improve decision quality.
• Leverage AI, tax technology and data analytics to enhance client outcomes and delivery efficiency.
• Identify process improvements, streamline workflows and resolve barriers to team performance.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, providing feedback and development opportunities.
• Analyse complex tax and commercial proposals, synthesize information and deliver commercially focused recommendations.
• Engage multiple stakeholders, including clients, internal specialists and external advisors, to design practical solutions.
• Ensure delivery quality by reviewing work products and upholding professional standards.
• Use data modelling and insights to quantify tax positions and support decision‑making.
• Develop viewpoints on global tax trends (e.g., BEPS, Pillar Two) and communicate implications to non‑tax audiences.

Required profile

• Recognised university degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Qualified member of a recognised accounting or tax professional body.
• 5‑8 years of progressive corporate tax experience, with ownership of client deliverables.
• Direct experience advising financial services clients on tax compliance, advisory or M&A.
• Strong written and spoken English; Cantonese or Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
