Senior Chemist (Hardlines - Reporting)

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is hiring a Senior Chemist (Hardlines - Reporting) in Fanling. The role covers reviewing and approving test results, signing test reports and overseeing the laboratory's daily operations and its team.

Key responsibilities

• Review and authorise test results from technical and statistical perspectives
• Act as the signatory of test reports
• Monitor, maintain and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of daily laboratory operations
• Oversee people management of the team, including staffing and resource management, and drive the performance culture
• Develop staff training and people development plans aligned with business strategy, company direction and individual employee needs

Required profile

• Degree or above in Chemistry or a related discipline
• At least 7 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in laboratory supervision, operation and service programme development
• Initiative, organised and able to work independently
• Good command of English and Chinese, including Mandarin
• Candidates with less experience may be considered as Chemist

Required skills

• Knowledge of the HOKLAS system
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025
