Senior Technical Officer – Academy of Music

About the role

The Academy of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University is seeking a Senior Technical Officer (and Technical Officer) to provide comprehensive administrative, technical and logistical support for its teaching, performance and creative hub activities. The role combines day‑to‑day office management with hands‑on production of audio‑visual content for courses and events.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily office operations and coordinate teaching, learning and performance schedules.
• Produce and edit teaching videos and audio recordings, ensuring high‑quality output.
• Provide on‑site technical support during concerts, live events and key projects, including setup and operation of AV equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot audio‑visual and IT equipment across Mac and Windows platforms.
• Assist the Technical Manager with additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Minimum four years of experience in media production, AV, or event support.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Detail‑oriented team player with the ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience in filming, photography and video editing.
• Proficiency with professional audio hardware and software.
• Strong knowledge of both Mac OS and Windows OS, including equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
