Senior Vice President, Private Debt Mobilization

About the role

The Senior Vice President, Private Debt Mobilization will drive the growth of Santander's Private Debt Mobilization franchise across Global Banking in Asia. This senior position supports debt financing activities, focusing on distribution, balance‑sheet optimization, and liquidity analysis to enhance underwriting decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and execute strategies to build a sustainable Private Debt Mobilization franchise aligned with SCIB growth objectives.
• Partner with origination and Global Markets sales teams to deliver distribution‑led structuring and underwriting solutions.
• Manage end‑to‑end execution of debt asset distribution, syndication, sell‑down, risk transfer, and balance‑sheet optimization, securing necessary approvals.
• Provide liquidity assessments and distribution recommendations for underwriting and investment committee decisions.
• Coordinate dissemination of PDM policies, procedures, and product knowledge across SCIB Asia stakeholders.
• Lead syndication and investor engagement activities, developing new distribution channels and investor coverage.
• Maintain ongoing dialogue with investors, delivering market intelligence and capacity feedback to origination teams.
• Support IT and operational developments required for debt financing asset distribution and accounting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a business‑related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in debt underwriting, structuring, and syndication, with strong understanding of investor requirements.
• Experience in syndicated loans, structured debt, or infrastructure financing, preferably across HK, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, SEA, and Australia.
• Proven track record in sizeable underwriting and warehousing of bespoke transactions across the capital stack.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
