Solution Architect

About the role

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is seeking a senior Solution Architect to shape and guide technology solutions that support its vision of becoming a premier arts, culture and entertainment destination. You will work closely with application managers, business analysts and various stakeholders to translate business demand into robust, scalable architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Application Manager, Business Analysts and stakeholders to assess requirements, plan solutions and conduct impact analysis.
• Design holistic, fit‑for‑purpose solution directions that align with enterprise architecture principles and ensure seamless integration across applications, platforms and supporting technologies.
• Develop high‑level and conceptual solution designs for multi‑system initiatives, evaluating functional and non‑functional requirements, cost, risk and sustainability.
• Evaluate vendor and third‑party proposals, providing architectural guidance to avoid unfit or vendor‑driven designs.
• Document solution architecture using Architecture Decision Records (ADR) and extend established solution patterns for consistency and reuse.
• Support architecture governance, design reviews and decision‑making, grounding discussions in business priorities and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Recognised university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in solution architecture roles on large‑scale, multi‑system programmes.
• Strong experience designing solution architectures in complex, multi‑system environments with solid integration knowledge.
• Good understanding of cloud‑based architecture and design approaches.
• Practical experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
