Steward – Hotel Food & Beverage

About the role

The Steward supports the Food & Beverage operations at The Ritz-Carlton, ensuring all kitchen, dining, and storage areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked. This full‑time, on‑site position is essential for maintaining the high standards of hygiene and service that define the brand.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect, and sanitize kitchen surfaces, tables, tools, knives, and equipment using appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock, and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; return any soiled items for re‑scrubbing.
• Rinse and spray racked items with hot water to remove food residue; sort, soak, and re‑wash silverware as needed.
• Break down dirty bus tubs, empty and maintain trashcans, and manage dumpster areas.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas, dispose of glass safely, and handle recyclables.
• Follow all company safety, security, and quality policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or place objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to bend, twist, and stoop as needed.
• Clear and professional communication skills.
• Team‑oriented attitude with a focus on supporting collective goals.
