Superintendent – Baggage Handling System Maintenance

About the role

The Airport Authority Hong Kong is seeking a Superintendent to lead first‑line response and maintenance activities for its Baggage Handling System (BHS) and related airport automation equipment. You will ensure reliable operation of critical baggage and security systems while supporting a safe, efficient airport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line fault response and attendance for BHS, Automated Arrival Baggage Delivery (AABD), Early Bag Storage (EBS), Baggage Security Screening (BSS), Powered Baggage Loading Devices (S@E) and RFID systems.
• Monitor and control performance of all listed systems, preparing logs, incident reports and fault analyses.
• Develop and refine system failure contingency plans and conduct regular drill exercises.
• Supervise planned maintenance activities during duty shifts and coordinate external contractors.
• Maintain shift rotation (alternating 2‑day day/night shifts with 2‑day off).

Required profile

• Higher Diploma/Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Building Services Engineering or related discipline with ≥4 years relevant experience, or a degree with ≥2 years experience.
• Candidates with ≥10 years relevant experience may be considered without formal qualifications.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities; able to work under pressure.
• Valid Hong Kong driving licence (Class 1 or 2) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluent English and Chinese (Putonghua a plus).
