Supply Chain Manager

About the role

Hitachi Rail Hong Kong Limited is looking for a Supply Chain Manager based in Hong Kong. The role covers procurement and supply chain activities for bids and projects, acting as the bridge between procurement and project management, engineering and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on manufacturing work packages for hardware manufacturing related to bids and projects
• Implement group internal procurement policies and provide industrial engineering support and manufacturing work packages for bids and projects
• Link Engineering, Bid and Project teams and ensure consistent processes and reporting
• Coordinate internally with purchasing on commercial and contractual matters and with Supply Chain on logistics and schedule management
• Manage procurement tasks for designated projects and represent procurement as the key link to project management, engineering and other teams
• Manage project purchase budgets and spend, achieve key saving targets and meet procurement KPIs
• Prepare procurement costs for bids and tenders in a timely way with the procurement category team
• Take part in purchase request plans and express of need for materials and services
• Interface with the Project Management Office to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Supervise suppliers and prepare in liaison with Customer Services for the revenue service phase

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management
• 7-10 years of experience in a project-driven company, preferably in transportation or security
• Strong practical knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes, tools, organisation and cost drivers for electronic technologies
• Familiarity with project management, WBS and matrix organisation
• Commitment and budget ownership under pressure, able to defend complex decisions against challenging counterparts and management

Required skills

• Good to have: knowledge of E&M systems such as AFC, COMS or SCADA
• Good to have: railway hardware manufacturing experience
• Good to have: knowledge of SAP byDesign
