System Engineer Consultant – Hong Kong

About the role

The Consultant (System Engineer) will support the design, implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure for our client in Hong Kong. You will work on servers, workstations, network devices and security solutions, ensuring reliable operation and compliance with policies.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure new servers and user workstations.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux servers, including DHCP, DNS and Active Directory.
• Manage LAN/WAN/VPN performance, configure routers, switches and firewalls.
• Implement security policies, manage Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions and perform regular system backups using Veeam.
• Maintain inventory records, liaise with vendors and government departments, and document system configurations.
• Provide technical assistance for equipment relocation and end‑user training.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in LAN administration, server troubleshooting and network device management.
• At least 2 years of help‑desk support for Windows workstations and standard office applications.
• Prior experience supporting government departments is a plus.
