Technical Officer II – Maintenance (Power Generation)

About the role

The Technical Officer II – Maintenance will join CLP's Generation Business Group at the Black Point Power Station. Reporting to the Team Leader, the incumbent will work within multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and standards‑compliant maintenance of turbines and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance activities in line with safety standards, engineering specifications, schedules, and budgets.
• Monitor progress of assigned tasks to ensure compliance with design, codes of practice, and cost targets.
• Analyse equipment faults, diagnose defects, and arrange appropriate spares.
• Prepare, review, and update work documentation and reports.
• Propose innovative improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, asset performance, and cost‑effectiveness.
• Provide on‑the‑job technical supervision and guidance to frontline workers and contractors.
• Ensure safe working practices and satisfactory completion of all works.

Required profile

• Higher Certificate or Higher Diploma in Mechanical, Engineering or related field with at least 2 years relevant experience, or Ordinary Certificate with at least 4 years experience.
• Solid experience in maintenance of turbines, turbine auxiliary equipment, or other heavy machinery.
• Familiarity with Safety, Health and Environment regulations and strong safety awareness.
• Experience in inventory control and material management is an advantage.
• Proficient in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office.
• Proven supervisory, interpersonal and communication abilities.
