Vice President, Financial Control – Accounting (Hong Kong)

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking a Vice President for its Financial Control Department, Accounting Section in Hong Kong. The role focuses on profit tax calculation, regulatory compliance, and providing tax advisory support to business units while ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate profit tax in compliance with Hong Kong tax regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of profit tax returns.
• Provide advisory services on withholding tax, corporate income tax, booking, and tax treaties.
• Monitor changes to accounting standards and tax regulations, analysing impacts and developing compliance action plans.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the head office and conduct variance analysis.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes to guarantee accurate and timely reporting.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure all accounting and tax operations adhere to internal policies, procedures and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills for report preparation and variance analysis.
• Ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail and strict adherence to rules, standards and deadlines.
• Self‑motivated.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
• Knowledge of tax regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
