Vice President – Korea Coverage, Global Banking

About the role

The Vice President, Korea Coverage, Global Banking will lead and expand relationships with Korean corporate clients and selected Korean financial institutions from our Hong Kong hub. The role focuses on originating and coordinating strategic banking opportunities across the bank’s full suite of products, including transaction banking, syndicated and structured finance, capital markets, and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for major Korean conglomerates, large corporates, and selected financial institutions, building trusted long‑term partnerships.
• Originate and execute client strategies to grow revenue, identifying cross‑selling opportunities across lending, capital markets, treasury, and other banking solutions.
• Partner with product, credit, risk, legal, and operations teams to structure and execute transactions, leading deal coordination and ensuring efficient credit approvals, due diligence, and documentation.
• Maintain robust compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, overseeing client onboarding, KYC, AML, and environmental/reputational risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field; advanced degrees or CFA are a plus.
• 8–12 years of banking or financial services experience with a strong track record covering Korean corporate clients; experience with Korean financial institutions is advantageous.
• High integrity, strong ownership, commercial acumen and proven ability to build and sustain long‑term client relationships.
• Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of working independently and navigating ambiguity.
• Native Korean proficiency and strong spoken and written English.
