Wok Cook – 2-Michelin-Star Chinese Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking a Wok Cook for a 2‑Michelin‑star Chinese restaurant located in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The role involves preparing ingredients, cooking dishes according to recipes, and maintaining high food quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix foods.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, including cold dishes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for proper cooking.
• Monitor food quality, set‑up and break‑down work stations, and serve food in proper portions.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment, and verify appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any incidents or maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lb, and reaching overhead.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen or food‑preparation experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work full‑time in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.
• Willingness to adhere to safety, quality and hygiene standards.
