Account Manager, HK Institutional Client Management

About the role

PIMCO, a global leader in active fixed income investing, is hiring an Account Manager for its Hong Kong & Macau Institutional Team. The role engages investment decision makers and deepens client relationships, working closely with senior account managers, portfolio managers, product strategists and business leadership. It focuses on client servicing and business development with central banks, pension funds, insurers and other institutional investors, and reports to the Head of Hong Kong and Macau Institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Lead Account Manager to execute a client service and business development strategy across institutional investors in Hong Kong and Macau.
• Own client relationships end-to-end, ensuring operational, compliance and legal requirements are met.
• Take part in formal portfolio client reviews, developing enough fixed income technical and macro expertise to act as the surrogate portfolio manager.
• Present investment solutions using the full range of PIMCO's strategies and services, together with the Lead Account Manager and other senior investment professionals.
• Build detailed knowledge of the business and strategic issues facing institutional investors in Hong Kong and Macau.
• Develop relationships with influential asset allocators and investment teams, and acquire and service new and existing clients and mandates.

Required profile

• Proven record in client service, cross-selling and relationship management with institutional investors.
• Seniority and stature to operate at the highest level internally and externally.
• 6-8 years' experience in financial services, with a solid understanding of economics, capital markets and investment concepts; experience in alternatives, private credit and real estate is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Cantonese, able to explain abstract investment concepts to clients of different backgrounds.
• Strong negotiation, communication and judgment skills, entrepreneurial and able to drive their own agenda.
