Assistant Façade Engineer

About the role

Inhabit, a specialist consultancy focused on the design and advancement of the built environment, is looking for an Assistant Façade Engineer to join its growing Hong Kong office. The office works with some of Asia's most prestigious architecture firms and clients, and the role covers facade design and engineering for projects in Hong Kong and across Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Design and engineering of facades for building projects in Hong Kong and across Asia.
• Prepare calculation reports for local government submissions.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and contractor-provided calculations.
• Attend inspections during the construction, installation and fabrication of concrete and steel structures.
• Take part in meetings with senior team members to give engineering input to the design process.
• Communicate daily with the engineering manager and team to keep projects aligned.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant construction or engineering experience.
• Strong written and spoken English and Cantonese.
• Preferred: experience in façade engineering or construction, structural engineering, and preparing submissions for the Buildings Department.
• Preferred: TCP T3 qualification under the RSE stream, and strong English, Cantonese and Mandarin, with Mandarin being an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with other engineering software.
• Preferred: knowledge of finite element analysis software such as Strand7 and SAP2000.
