Assistant Facilities Engineer

About the role

DayOne is expanding its global data centre network and seeks an Assistant Facilities Engineer to support the operation of critical mechanical, electrical and fire‑suppression systems. The role will work closely with the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Critical Services Manager to ensure reliable 24/7 performance of all MEP infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation, operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, fire‑suppression and security systems within data centre facilities.
• Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures and best practices to ensure compliance with building codes and EHS regulations.
• Coordinate shift teams to provide seamless 24/7 coverage, develop processing plans and optimise resource allocation.
• Plan and supervise preventative and corrective maintenance activities, liaising with vendors and contractors to minimise operational impact.
• Diagnose system issues, conduct data analysis and generate reports to improve operational efficiency.
• Support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing mechanical system performance and supporting business growth.
