Assistant Facility Engineer

About the role

DayOne is seeking an Assistant Facility Engineer to support the operation and reliability of its high‑performance data centre facilities. The role will focus on managing mechanical, electrical, fire‑suppression and security systems to ensure continuous, safe service.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation, operation and maintenance of all MEP systems within data centres.
• Ensure mechanical, electrical, fire‑suppression and security infrastructure operates reliably and efficiently.
• Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate shift teams to provide seamless 24/7 coverage and effective handovers.
• Develop processing plans and optimise resource allocation.
• Plan and supervise preventative and corrective maintenance activities according to manufacturer and company standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and upgrade projects while minimising operational impact.
• Implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and promptly diagnose issues.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and records for compliance audits and certifications.
• Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to improve efficiency, gathering and analysing data and reports.
• Support the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Critical Services Manager in strategic initiatives to enhance system performance and support business growth.
