Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

The Assistant Financial Controller will ensure the overall financial integrity, compliance and performance of the Kowloon Shangri‑La hotel, providing strategic financial leadership to support business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and regulatory filings.
• Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and internal policies.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures for the hotel.
• Maintain accounting systems for cash management, AP, AR, credit control, payroll and petty cash in partnership with the Finance Shared Services Centre.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting, providing analysis and guidance to department heads.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and liaise with external auditors.
• Provide strategic financial input on decision‑making, cash‑flow analysis, cost control and expense management.
• Handle ad‑hoc business assignments as directed by supervisors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CMA, CGA).
• Minimum 5 years’ hospitality finance experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Solid understanding of financial statistics, accounting principles and statutory regulations.
