Assistant HR Manager

About the role

A global luxury fashion MNC, recruited by Timeo-Performance, is looking for an Assistant HR Manager based in Hong Kong. The role supports the HR Manager across all HR programmes, from recruitment and payroll to performance management and training, and involves HR initiatives and ad hoc projects. The position reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Recruitment and selection: job postings, screening, package proposals and benefit/compensation negotiations for assigned groups
• Manpower planning and briefing or orientation for new hires
• Payroll and benefits: calculations, tax reporting, MPF, leave and benefits; payroll system administration and enhancement support
• HR policy, benefits and insurance review and implementation
• HR system management, database and personnel records maintenance
• Club memberships, housing leases and home leave coordination
• Assignment support for international assignees (expatriates and local-plus) in Hong Kong, including visas, accommodation, relocation, schooling, spouse assistance and intercultural services
• Annual performance management, salary review and bonus recommendations, salary surveys, social and monthly HR movement reports
• Training: performance management briefings, performance coaching, training sponsorship and programme coordination
• Employee relations: communicating company information, organising staff events and well-being initiatives, advising employees and handling complaints and grievances
• Ad-hoc HR projects and assignments

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, HRM or a related discipline
• At least 5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in luxury retail and MNCs
• Fluent spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
• Pleasant, detailed-oriented, team player willing to accept responsibility

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Employment Ordinance and related regulations
• Analytical skills, multitasking and ability to work under tight deadlines
