Assistant Sales Manager, Event Booking Center

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Sales Manager for our Event Booking Center at Marriott International in Hong Kong. The role supports the Sales & Marketing team by handling guest inquiries, processing reservations, and promoting revenue‑generating opportunities while maintaining high standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Contact appropriate departments (Sales, Data Administration, Accounting) to resolve guest calls, requests, or problems.
• Apply sales techniques to maximize revenue, including up‑selling and offering complimentary gifts such as rewards points or vouchers.
• Process Marriott Rewards redemptions and all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or mail.
• Enter reservation and rewards information into the designated software system.
• Answer, record, and address guest calls, questions, and concerns with professional etiquette.
• Perform general office duties supporting Sales & Marketing (filing, emailing, typing, faxing).
• Assist management in training and motivating staff, serving as a role model.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to company policies, and ensure a professional appearance.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and provide courteous assistance.
• Prepare and review written documents accurately and handle telephone communications.
• Develop positive working relationships and monitor performance to meet quality standards.
• Handle light physical tasks such as moving objects up to 10 lb.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related work experience in sales, customer service, or hospitality.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow company policies.
• Professional appearance and clear, courteous communication skills.
