Assistant Vice President - Finance

About the role

The Assistant Vice President – Finance will lead the finance function for a securities‑focused organization, ensuring regulatory compliance, robust financial reporting, and effective treasury management. This senior position reports to senior leadership and works closely with auditors, tax advisers and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and submission of SFC FRR returns and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with the Securities and Futures Ordinance, Client Money Rules and related requirements.
• Manage monthly and annual financial closing, financial statements, management accounts and internal control frameworks.
• Direct banking relationships, cash management, liquidity monitoring, KYC documentation and banking administration.
• Coordinate audits, tax compliance, statutory reporting and act as primary liaison with auditors and external advisers.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, driving process improvements, system enhancements and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Group Finance on consolidation, budgeting and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance or regulatory reporting, preferably within securities, wealth management or financial services.
• Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing SFC FRR returns and other regulatory filings.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, audits, treasury management and internal controls.
• Prior experience supervising or managing a finance team is desirable.
