Associate, Assistant Relationship Manager (Funds & Insurance)

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting an Associate, Assistant Relationship Manager for its Global Corporate Banking Division for Asia, covering Funds and Insurance. The role supports the team in developing the FI portfolio for GCIB Hong Kong, assists the Relationship Manager in building and maintaining client relationships, and helps keep reporting and management information up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate industry, product and competitor trends and act promptly
• Support client planning and industry analysis, and conduct market research to monitor customer performance and credit status
• Contribute to the bank's and members' profitability and support the RM in improving client returns (RoE) through cross-selling and other activities
• Identify customer needs, explain them clearly, build relationships and arrange meetings with customers
• Collaborate with wider MUFG teams to give clients expertise and value
• Develop yourself through internal and external training and e-learning, and share knowledge with junior colleagues
• Understand credit policies, liaise with Credit Management, and use internal systems (CHUB, GCRM) and external resources (S&P)
• Supervise an Associate's work where applicable, manage time effectively and follow the MUFG Code of Conduct

Required profile

• University degree, preferably in business studies
• At least 3 years of institutional banking experience
• Strong client-facing and relationship management experience, with solid FI/NBFI understanding and bank product knowledge
• Fluent in Chinese and English
• Detail-oriented, good time management and organisational skills
• Able to work under pressure and independently, and a team player
