Associate Data Engineer

About the role

WPP Media Hong Kong is looking for a motivated Associate Data Engineer to join its data engineering team. In this early‑career position you will help build and maintain the data pipelines that power the company’s analytics and decision‑making across media and advertising services.

Key responsibilities

• Support design, development and monitoring of robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows that consolidate data from multiple media platforms.
• Develop, optimise and maintain high‑performance SQL queries, database views and automated data transformations.
• Assist in integrating data from primary sources into the central enterprise data platform.
• Validate data integrity, troubleshoot failures and investigate quality issues to ensure trustworthy analytics.
• Document data flows, technical processes and business logic clearly.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, architects and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable data solutions.
• Take ownership of small‑to-medium data engineering tasks from planning through delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset, curiosity and ability to work in a fast‑paced media environment.
