AVP/VP – Prime Brokerage Transaction Management

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President / Vice President to lead legal and documentation oversight for complex prime brokerage transactions within a leading global investment bank’s Prime Services platform.

Key responsibilities

• Review and oversee execution documentation for prime brokerage transactions, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, GMRA, GMSLA and bespoke side letters.
• Act as the strategic liaison between Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk, Operations and Front‑Office Trading/Sales to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with internal risk appetite.
• Monitor regulatory updates (e.g., Dodd‑Frank, EMIR, SFTR, HKMA/SFC) and drive process improvements to mitigate legal and operational risks.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) or Finance/Business degree with strong paralegal or legal operations experience in financial services.
• 3–6+ years of experience in prime brokerage transaction management, legal documentation, or at a top‑tier law firm.
• Deep knowledge of ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA frameworks, equity and synthetic derivative structures, securities lending and margin documentation.
• Excellent contract analysis, attention to detail, risk judgment and negotiation skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
