Buyer – Seasonal & General Merchandise

About the role

As a Buyer for Seasonal & General Merchandise, you will own the full sourcing lifecycle, from identifying market trends to delivering finished products. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to create innovative merchandise while building a resilient, diversified supply chain for Walgreens.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, source, and develop new products aligned with market trends and customer briefs.
• Lead RFP/RFQ processes, evaluate supplier proposals, and support supplier selection.
• Negotiate commercial terms to balance cost, quality, and value, driving margin improvement.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and competitor activity to uncover savings opportunities.
• Manage end‑to‑end projects, ensuring on‑time delivery and adherence to KPIs.
• Develop strong supplier relationships, diversify sourcing beyond China, and mitigate supply‑chain risks.
• Collaborate with Category, Owned Brand, and Business Services teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Support international buying trips and ad‑hoc sourcing initiatives.

Required profile

• University graduate or equivalent qualification.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking with a commercial mindset.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on sourcing experience.
• Experience in a sizeable buying office or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Solid understanding of the US retail market and its regulatory requirements.
