Chief Commercial and Product Officer, Wealth

About the role

The Chief Commercial and Product Officer, Wealth (CCPO Wealth) reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Wealth & Bermuda, with product functional reporting to the Group Chief Product Officer. The role drives and optimises the commercial and financial performance of Wealth across the Group and plays a key leadership role in establishing the High Net Worth (HNW) platform, covering HNW propositions, products and channels. It oversees strategic finance, business planning, portfolio optimisation, data and analytics, product strategy and marketing, product development, pricing, implementation and third-party reinsurance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Wealth's financial strategy, lead financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, and set up management reporting and performance dashboards
• Define and monitor KPIs such as revenue, profitability, productivity, return on capital and value creation, and advise the CEO, Executive Committee and Boards
• Oversee product strategy, development, pricing and marketing, and drive the end-to-end HNW product lifecycle, including Bermuda products
• Lead the design and operationalisation of third-party reinsurance arrangements and govern standard, bespoke and exception pricing
• Review business cases, product economics and investment decisions, and align product priorities with the financial strategy
• Establish consistent financial governance, reporting and performance frameworks across the Wealth platform, partnering with the Bermuda CFO and LBU CFOs
• Support external product innovation and business development with private banks, international brokers and reinsurers, and partner with Wealth Finance and Actuarial on commercial structuring
• Set up a Wealth Centre of Excellence for strategic finance, portfolio management, product economics and pricing, and develop common financial frameworks across Wealth Hubs and LBUs
• Build and lead the Wealth Strategic Finance and Product organisations, coach senior leaders and foster commercial discipline and collaboration

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline; FIA, MBA, CPA, CA, CFA or equivalent preferred
• 20+ years of experience in product and/or finance leadership within insurance, wealth management or financial services
• Proven track record in product development and pricing, strategic finance, portfolio optimisation and business performance
• Experience operating across multiple markets in a complex, matrixed organisation and influencing Boards, regulators and senior executives
• Demonstrated experience developing strategic partnerships and leading finance transformation or large-scale strategic initiatives

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, solvency requirements (BSCR, ECR, ICS, Solvency II, RBC)
• Understanding of insurance products, pricing, ALM, investments, reinsurance and financial governance
• Preferred: experience building a regional Wealth or HNW business, embedded value, IFRS 17 and economic value measurement, and multiple Asian insurance markets and offshore Wealth structures
