Cook – Happy Valley Clubhouse

About the role

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a skilled Cook to join the Happy Valley Clubhouse team. You will work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume kitchen serving members, guests and corporate clients across multiple outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items according to established recipes, ingredients and presentation standards.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and compliance with HACCP and other food‑safety programmes.
• Manage mise en place, set up workstations and ensure sections are ready for service as directed by the Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine.
• Taste and inspect food for freshness, quality and consistency.
• Minimise food waste and support sustainable resource use.
• Attend pre‑service briefings and stay informed about club events and operational updates.
• Assist the Sous Chef with daily duties and perform any additional tasks assigned by senior kitchen staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in prestigious hotels, restaurants, all‑day dining, large‑scale coffee shops or banquet food production.
• Strong knowledge of hygiene practices, particularly HACCP.
• Professional appearance, punctuality and courteous interaction with guests and colleagues.

Required skills

• HACCP food‑safety certification or equivalent knowledge.
• Proficiency in English (advantageous for communication).
