Dean of School of Medicine

About the role

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen is seeking an inspirational and visionary Dean to lead the School of Medicine into its next phase of growth. Reporting to the University President/Vice‑President, the Dean will head an international faculty and administrative team, positioning the School as a globally recognised, top‑tier medical education institution.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to advance undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes across clinical medicine, bioinformatics, biomedical science, engineering and pharmaceutical sciences.
• Drive impactful contributions to China’s healthcare landscape, with a particular focus on the Greater Bay Area.
• Foster collaboration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong campuses and integrate innovative medical education models.
• Represent the School in national and international forums, enhancing its reputation and research partnerships.
• Oversee the development of Nobel‑Laureate Institutes and research initiatives within the School.

Required profile

• Proven academic leadership experience in a medical or health‑science environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire an international team of faculty and staff.
• Visionary outlook with a commitment to excellence in medical education and research.
• Strong understanding of China’s healthcare system and the strategic priorities of the Greater Bay Area.
