Director, Group Security

About the role

To support the VP in leading the operational security function within Group Security & Operational Risk, translating Group strategy, standards and frameworks into effective security operations across HSH properties and businesses globally. The role safeguards guests, employees, assets, operations and reputation while supporting HSH service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of Group physical security standards, procedures and operating practices across properties and businesses.
• Provide subject‑matter leadership for CCTV, electronic access control, visitor management, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, security control rooms, panic and duress alarms, and emergency public‑address systems.
• Review security system designs, specifications, major upgrades and capital projects to ensure alignment with Group standards.
• Lead crisis planning, preparedness, incident response, tabletop exercises, drills and corrective actions.
• Manage security for high‑profile events, travel‑risk intelligence, incident investigations and vendor governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, risk management, criminal justice, emergency management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant security experience, including at least 5 years in a management or leadership role with regional or global responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of physical security operations in a 24/7 luxury hotel environment.
• Established relationships with law enforcement, government security agencies and emergency services.
• Ability to travel internationally and work outside normal office hours as needed.
