Electrical Technician

About the role

DayOne is seeking an Electrical Technician to support the operation of its high‑performance data centres. The role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident response on low‑voltage (LV) power distribution equipment and UPS auxiliary systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on LV panels, circuit breakers, UPS auxiliary components and power distribution equipment.
• Carry out troubleshooting and support fault investigations under the guidance of engineers.
• Replace electrical parts such as fans, fuses, sensors, indicator lights and small control devices.
• Assist in the implementation of Method of Procedure (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents and emergency response actions.
• Conduct routine inspections, document findings and escalate any abnormalities.
• Support response to electrical incidents including UPS alarms, breaker trips and abnormal readings.
• Maintain electrical tools, personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper documentation.
• Follow electrical safety standards, including lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO), arc‑flash protection and permit‑to‑work (PTW) requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to follow engineering guidance and adhere to documented procedures.
• Strong attention to safety and compliance with electrical standards.
• Good documentation habits and ability to report findings clearly.

Required skills

• LV panel and breaker maintenance.
• UPS auxiliary component servicing.
• Electrical troubleshooting and fault investigation.
• Use of electrical tools and replacement of components (fans, fuses, sensors, indicator lights).
• Implementation of MOPs, SOPs and emergency response procedures.
• Electrical safety practices: LOTO, arc‑flash protection, PTW.
