Global Licensing Lawyer – FinTech & Crypto

About the role

Coins.ph is expanding its footprint across the EU, Latin America, Africa, South Asia and Hong Kong. We are looking for an experienced Lawyer to lead global licensing and regulatory affairs for payments, e‑money, remittance and virtual‑asset services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑jurisdiction licensing roadmap covering payments, e‑money, remittances and crypto‑related services.
• Prepare, review and submit licence applications; manage ongoing communications with regulators and government agencies.
• Coordinate with external counsel, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with compliance, risk and operations teams.
• Monitor global regulatory developments, assess opportunities and risks, and advise senior management on market entry requirements.
• Draft and maintain internal policies, licensing documentation and regulatory reports.
• Represent Coins.ph in regulatory discussions, industry associations and working groups to influence favourable licensing outcomes.

Required profile

• LL.B. or equivalent law degree.
• 5+ years post‑qualification legal experience, with at least 3 years in financial services, fintech, payments or crypto.
• Proven track record securing financial or payment licences in one or more target regions (EU, LatAm, Africa, South Asia, Hong Kong).
• Deep knowledge of payment services regulations, AML/CFT, e‑money and virtual‑asset frameworks.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills with regulators and external counsel.
• Excellent English communication and legal drafting; additional languages such as Chinese are a plus.
